Professional statement

Dr. Stephanie Kerrigan is a Clinical Psychologist who specializes in the association between physical and mental health and helping individuals to align with their values. She provides virtual care across Connecticut, New Jersey, and Florida.

Dr. Kerrigan has extensive training in cognitive-behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy, and uses evidence-based approaches to help clients work towards their goals. Her style is active and collaborative. She strives to gain a deep understanding of each patient and the changes they want to see in their lives. She has worked extensively with individuals undergoing major life transitions (new parenthood, new job or job loss, moving to a new area) and believes therapy can be a valuable tool helping individuals to adjust well to new circumstances.

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Kerrigan provides consultation on workplace wellbeing programs and executive coaching to several organizations. She has also worked across many hospital systems (including UPenn, Cooper University Hospital, and Rush University Medical Center) providing care to both inpatient and outpatient adults.

Message to clients

My goal as a therapist is to explore with each client with new skills and new ways of thinking to help them gain a renewed understanding of themselves as individuals. Sometimes clients come to therapy knowing exactly what they want to get out of it, and other times clients aren't quite sure but just know something feels "off" and they want to feel better. Either way, therapy offers a unique space to learn new things and practice new skills in a nonjudgmental environment.

I see all of my clients via teletherapy (so, over a video session). This can make it easier to find time for therapy, feel more comfortable, and practice new skills while in your own setting. Finding the right therapist for you is an important process; if you think we might work well together, please don't hesitate to reach out.
