Professional statement

Stephanie is a Licensed Professional Counselor serving Texas and Colorado. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She has worked with individuals with OCD, Social Anxiety, Perfectionism, Generalized Anxiety, and Depression in residential and intensive outpatient settings.

Stephanie's focus is in treating general anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety, perfectionism, depression, low self-esteem, and work/school-related stress. As a Taiwanese American, she also has a special focus in treating Asian American identity issues.

Stephanie believes that a genuine human connection is essential to therapy. Thus, she likes to use humor, pop culture references, and metaphors when appropriate to connect with clients and explain therapy concepts. Three main themes that guide each session are processing difficulties or situations from clients, teaching skills and therapy concepts to clients, and planning effective behavioral changes by using skills. Stephanie uses techniques from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

All sessions are done via telehealth in a secure video chat platform so that they are easy and convenient to schedule and access.

Message to clients

Hello, welcome to my page! Before starting sessions with me, we will determine if we are a good fit because I believe that treatments work best when you feel comfortable with your therapist. I value increasing your self-efficacy, self-compassion, and hope in our sessions and in your every day life. Often we are held back from living our best lives by fear, doubt, and uncertainty. My mission is to help you identify where you are stuck, envision what a meaningful life looks like to you, and embolden you to make effective changes. You do not have to deal with your struggles alone.
