Dr. Steven Wyatt is a Psychologist located in Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. Wyatt helps clients with a wide range of life situations, challenges, and mental health goals. He works with individuals, couples, and families to process through anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, grief after loss, and overwhelming stress. Many of the couples that Dr. Wyatt works with arrive at therapy after infidelity, communication issues, or chronic conflict. Dr. Wyatt specializes in matters of spirituality, including Christian Counseling.
Dr. Wyatt draws from multiple therapy modalities in his practice. He teaches clients about the role of attachments, especially those early in life. The relationships that clients had as children with their caregivers may result in codependency later in life, so Dr. Wyatt encourages clients to consider how to adapt their beliefs about relationships to develop healthy boundaries. He also teaches clients how to become aware of harmful assumptions or unhealthy thought patterns that lead to distress through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). When appropriate, Dr. Wyatt brings religion and spirituality into the conversation to help clients process through how their beliefs impact their mental health, expectations, roles, and dreams.
Dr. Wyatt earned a PhD in Psychology from the University of North Texas. He aims to give all clients a safe space to talk about their feelings without judgment. He has over 35 years of experience working with clients and supporting them through the challenges of life.
