Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCSuhailey fully believes in every individual’s ability to heal from traumas and access untapped strength that can aid in overcoming adversities. Whether you need help adjusting to life changes, managing the symptoms of depression or anxiety, or are just interested in better understanding the roots of certain behaviors, you should know that hope and healing are within reach.
Suhailey takes an integrative approach to therapy, utilizing techniques from different theoretical orientations – especially psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy – to best suit your unique needs. As a therapist, Suhailey has experience working with diverse populations and in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, chemical dependency treatment centers, behavioral clinics, and universities. In addition to working in private practice, she teaches graduate level counseling courses at her alma mater, Hunter College, CUNY, feeling privileged and humbled to play a positive role in shaping future counselors. She is passionate about helping students overcome the stress that can plague college years and beyond, providing the right balance of challenge, support, and critical reflection.
As a first generation American and Latinx woman, Suhailey recognizes that differences can exist beneficially. Her job as a therapist is to understand your differences by taking a culturally sensitive approach to treatment, welcoming your beliefs, perspectives, and personal challenges.
