Professional statement

Susan is a Licensed Professional Counselor providing Telehealth services in Missouri, Nebraska, Oregon, and Washington. She is experienced in many counseling areas but particularly enjoys working with military and veterans and came from a military family. Susan is trauma sensitive and works with clients on current triggers that may have a root in a past traumatic experience.

Susan’s approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based approach that focuses on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, so that they can begin to make targeted change. She works to help clients build their self esteem and learn to reframe negative or stinking thinking.

Susan is focused on ensuring that her clients see real progress: her style is interactive, non-judgmental, and positions clients as the experts on where they are now, and where they want to go. Susan loves an interactive approach where clients are engaged and bring to the session what they want to work on.

Message to clients

I really appreciate the time and consideration in making me your therapist. I do not take that lightly. I really strive to provide a non judge-mental environment and want to help clients feel empowered and strong again. Some clients have deeper issues and are in therapy for awhile and others just need a tweak. Whatever your need is where you start is not where you have to stay.
