Professional statement

Dr. Susan Spicer specializes in helping individuals heal from trauma and narcissistic abuse. She is a licensed psychologist, neuropsychological expert, certified brain health coach, and trauma therapist. Dr. Spicer has been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), and she has been trained in clinical hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). Her professional background includes 12 years of clinical experience in the Family Court system, Community Mental Health facilities, and shelters for battered women and children. She is a former team member of the Epilepsy Unit of the Department of Neuroscience and Behavioral Medicine at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. For a decade, Dr. Spicer conducted forensic neuropsychological evaluations of inmates in prison and testified in Court about her findings.

Dr. Spicer currently has a private practice focused on EMDR therapy. She uses a somatic approach to teach her clients the manner in which trauma is stored in the body. Her mind-body approach to healing is designed to help adults and adolescents heal from narcissistic abuse and recover from the trauma associated with childhood physical, emotional, and sexual abuse and relationship difficulties.

Dr. Spicer has spent decades studying the manner in which brainwave patterns impact our thoughts, feelings, and behavior, and she has extensive experience helping individuals achieve peak performance by optimizing their brain functioning. Dr. Spicer is a published researcher in many areas of brain functioning. She has television and news experience and has been featured as a psychological expert on multiple local and national news networks including FOX News.

Dr. Spicer is the creator of multiple online courses, programs, eBooks, guided meditations, brainwave audios, and hypnosis audios to help individuals recover from trauma, condition their thoughts, and rewire their brains for success and happiness.
