Message to clients

Finding a therapist can be a difficult process. If you are reading this is because you may be looking into starting that journey, it is important that you feel comfortable with the person you choose. I am passionate about helping patients change and improve the quality of their lives. My goal is to provide a safe and judgment free space where you can heal and grow to live a healthy and fulfilling life. I have 25 years of experience, and have worked in Italy and the USA. Psychoanalyst by training, my approach is tailored to the patient's needs, often combining a psychodynamic approach, which is a more insight-oriented therapy that focuses on the patient’s self awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on the present, with a Cognitive Behavioral approach, which tends to be goal-oriented and a more practical approach to problem solving.
For international students: Finding a therapist can be a challenging and confusing process, especially if you are coming from a different country. I have experience treating individuals from diverse educational, racial, religious and sexual orientation backgrounds. I am happy to help students adjust, cope, and adapt to living in a new country and managing the stress related to academic demands.

- Zencare client • September 2020
"I see Mrs. Angelillo once a week, sometimes twice a month to maintain a good attitude in life. She projects calmness and positive energy that puts me at ease, whether it is the peak of a hard situation or simply coping with uneventful life occurrences. She is a great listener, has a wide range of personal experiences to draw from, and possesses a sophisticated understanding of therapy."
- Client in mid-30s • July 2015
"I saw Dr. Angelillo so she can help me with my depression. She quickly became familiar with my situation and tried to understand what I was going through. She was able to offer advice and ways to make myself happier. She is also open to calls when you feel that you need to talk. She is the best! She is not your typical therapist that just sits and ask questions, but instead is able to have a full on conversation with you. It’s great!"
- Brown University student • June 2015
"In the past, I have tried to make connections with therapists; however, I never went to more than one or two sessions. I am grateful that I was able to find and to make a connection with Susanna. Susanna is a very warm and nonjudgmental person. She is an amazing listener and she is also reliable. Susanna works to maintain a confidential relationship with her patients and she is available as much (or as little) as you need her. It is without hesitation that I recommend her to anyone that needs help during a crisis and/or to have a safe place to vent as needed."
- Educator and Mother in early 30s • June 2015
