Suzonne Whedbee specialize in working with: Teenagers and Adults struggling with self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, loss of hope, Couple and family/relationship issues dealing with family stressors, blended families, and parenting/co-parenting issues. She has worked extensively with families with child and adolescent problems. She believes the most effective and efficient way to help a person is to involve other members of their family so that the family reinforces any program of change.
She is a Florida DCF Approved Provider (Florida Family Court requires divorcing/separating couples with minor children to complete a DCF approved parenting class before finalizing their divorce).
At Family Solutions Counseling, her practice is faith-based. Her faith and life experiences are why she chose to become a Counselor.
She also approaches client concerns from a Solution-focused perspective. We all possess strengths and resources that can be used to attain personal growth and overcome life's challenges. Each person is doing the best they can considering the context they live in and the relationships that exist in their lives.
Her job is not to judge but to build a level of trust, provide support, encourage the client to feel safe in expressing symptoms, and help find solutions.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Panic attacks / panic disorder - Brief, intense periods of overwhelming fear or anxiety
Performance anxiety - Underperforming, due exclusively to anxiety
Social anxiety - Helping clients increase confidence and ability to interact with others amidst fear of being judged, worry about embarrassment, or concern about offending others
Climate anxiety - Coping with the unique stress created by climate change, including managing any overwhelming feelings of impending disaster and finding outlets for advocacy
Worry - Learning how worry shows up in one’s life and exploring how worry impacts daily life, relationships, and wellbeing; developing coping skills to mitigate the impacts of worry
