Professional statement

Tamika Morris is a Marriage and Family Therapist located in Henderson, NV. Tamika is passionate about providing a safe space for women and women of color to speak openly about their thoughts, feelings, and challenges. Many of Tamika’s clients feel undermined in their professional and personal lives, leaving them feeling vulnerable, helpless, and frustrated. Other clients have experienced trauma and seek healing from their painful memories.

Tamika builds trust with each client by being transparent, empathetic, and kind. She encourages clients to verbally process through what’s on their mind, and validates their experiences. Tamika created a three phase therapy program where she not only empowers clients to take back power from their trauma and begin living their dream lives. She is dedicated to helping clients live more authentically and with more self-confidence.

Tamika earned a Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. She has additional certification in trauma therapy and has an integrative approach to supporting her clients. She strives to provide culturally-competent, trauma-informed care for clients as they work towards their mental health goals.

Message to clients

I know how hard it can be to reach out for help. You have already taken a big step by starting to explore therapy. I am here to support you and help you reach your goals. I am passionate about cultivating a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to explore your emotions, thought patterns, and relationships.

Each person is unique and, therefore so is each therapeutic relationship. Length of treatment is dependent upon your individual needs and goals. To give you an ideal, most people are in therapy with me for approximately 40 weeks to get their desired outcomes from therapy. This can be discussed further at the beginning of treatment.

Once you decide you would like to begin working together, I will create an account for you on SimplePractice. Your client portal will give you access to initial paperwork, policies, and consent forms which will take approximately 10- 20 minutes to complete.

All of my Telehealth sessions are conducted via video chat (unless otherwise discussed) on my HIPAA compliant practice management software, SimplePractice. Telehealth is becoming more and more common. It is an excellent way for you to get support in a space where you feel comfortable, and it also eliminates some of the hassle of getting to and from in-person therapy sessions. Prior to each session, it is important to ensure that you are in a private place where you feel comfortable and that you are connected to a strong internet signal to avoid interruptions.
