Licensed Master Social Worker, LMSW Juris Doctor, JD Practice: Resilience LabTanya Fridland works with people who are learning to thrive with ADHD, navigating life transitions, or overcoming professional difficulties. She specializes in a positive therapy approach that is tailored to every individual. Tanya draws from modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), executive function coaching, motivational interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to tailor interventions and approaches to each client’s unique experiences and preferences.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, Tanya worked as an attorney in New York City. Her experience with an ADHD diagnosis, burnout, and adjustment to motherhood prompted her to seek a career in which she could help other people weather their own challenges. Tanya pays close attention to each client’s unique identity in the therapy room, since she knows it can have a profound impact. Tanya herself identifies as a white, cisgender, heterosexual female of Jewish ancestry. Tanya is also an immigrant and understands the importance of cultural humility and competence in her social practice.
Tanya’s approach to therapy emphasizes each client’s strengths, preferences, and goals. Diagnoses are made in consultation with the client, and the role of a diagnosis is explored in therapy. Ultimately, Tanya’s goal is to help her clients feel secure and at ease in who and where they are.
