Professional statement

Reed Therapy, LLC expertly supports those seeking mental health guidance including individuals (teens and adults of all ages), groups, and couples. Reed Therapy has two locations, as one is for individual sessions (downtown Wenatchee) and the other location is for groups (grand opening soon in 2023 in the Wenatchee Riverfront Park area). Reed Therapy also offers confidential telehealth sessions online. Also, Reed Therapy’s weekly groups have been condensed into weekend retreats to allow travel to/from Wenatchee.

Tara Reed is the owner of Reed Therapy, LLC, and she is a licensed mental health counselor in Hawaii and Washington.

Tara works with each client to find the best combination of therapies that fit each individual best because not any one therapy approach works for everyone. Some primary therapeutic approaches Tara uses in both individual and group sessions include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), and holistic approaches such as mindfulness practices. Together with her clients she explores thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors, and uses an integrative therapeutic approach to support her clients through their difficult times by guiding them with the use of evidence-based therapy. She believes in working together in a collaborative approach to help clients reach their goals. Tara believes in her clients even when they struggle to believe in themselves. She has shared what a joy it is to watch the transition in her clients from lacking self-confidence or self-belief and struggling with their feelings into a new place of achieving their goals and feeling renewed and refocused. In session, Tara focuses on discovering what works best for her clients by teaching individualized coping skills/ grounding tools, and building on their strengths and what is working for them while also eliminating what does not work for them.

Message to clients

More about me; my counseling style is caring, thoughtful, insightful, genuine, and non-judgmental. It's important to me that my clients know that they are not alone in their personal struggles in their career, relationships, and/or their troubling thoughts and feelings. I promise to give my expert caring support every time we meet together. If you choose to join one of my groups, then you get the additional support of your peers struggling with similar issues along with my guidance too.

I received my Masters in Clinical Counseling Psychology from the University of Hawaii. My internships were excellent, and after graduation I worked in several settings over the past few years including mental health non-profit programs, in-patient crisis care mental health hospital settings, and private practice. When I’m relaxing, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and playing with my pets. My favorite self-care activities which help keep me grounded include walks outdoors, guided meditations with music, stretching, painting/drawing, and deep breathing exercises. I’m excited to share that my group therapy practice room is brand new; grand opening in 2023. It is a cozy space with a huge touch screen whiteboard (latest technology to play videos, display notes easily, and provide a space for participants to write answers/ask questions together); all groups are small, as I feel the best healing environment occurs in 14 or less participants.
