Professional statement

Do you often feel misunderstood? overlooked? trapped by the past? concerned about the future?

You are not alone. Our thoughts and emotions are intangible that we usually don't process how life experiences affect us. We are told to move on, suck it up, get over it, but we find ourselves stuck in our thoughts and emotions. It can seem impossible to navigate life experiences, which is why Tavonda dedicates her career to helping others overcome mental and emotional barriers to well-being.

In 2015, Tavonda graduated from Mercer University with a dual-Masters degree in Clinical Mental Counseling and Divinity (Pastoral Care). As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in private practice for 2 years, she helps people with anxiety, depression, and stress management. After graduation, she served as a Career Counselor at a university for 4 years, helping students of all ages manage anxiety and depression with career indecision. She also completed graduate training in non-profit, faith-based, and college settings.

Tavonda focuses on adults and teenagers, using cognitive behavior therapy to teach how thoughts and the "stories" we tell ourselves can cause years of emotional pain and suffering. Her first priority is to build a trusting relationship to create a safe environment for the healing journey to begin.

Certifications: National Certified Counselor (NCC) & Certified Career Counselor (CCC)

Message to clients

Welcome! I'm so glad that you reached out for help. I'm Tavonda Hudson, LPC, NCC, CCC a GA licensed therapist. Thank you for sharing information about yourself. You can read more about my background, education, experience, and counseling approach by clicking on my name above our messages. I generally check messages here a few times per day Mon-Thur and respond as quickly as I can. I do appreciate your patience when it takes a bit longer at times, as I may be tending to other clients or professional/personal responsibilities.

As you can read in my profile, my counseling style combines empathy with a narrative-based approach. I believe this combination can be very useful with the type of challenges that you're facing and I am very interested in working with you.

My goal and hope in working together are two-fold. In the short term, I'd like to help you to get some relief to ease some of the symptoms you mentioned so you can live a full life again. In the longer term, I hope that we can get to the bottom of the feelings, concerns, and dilemmas that are raised. I understand that this process may be new and difficult for you. You have done the first (and most important) step of reaching out for help. Together we will keep taking one step at a time, at a pace that you feel comfortable with.
