Professional statement

Do you often feel misunderstood? overlooked? trapped by the past? concerned about the future?

You are not alone. Our thoughts and emotions are intangible that we usually don't process how life experiences affect us. We are told to move on, suck it up, get over it, but we find ourselves stuck in our thoughts and emotions. It can seem impossible to navigate life experiences, which is why Tavonda dedicates her career to helping others overcome mental and emotional barriers to well-being.

In 2015, Tavonda graduated from Mercer University with a dual-Masters degree in Clinical Mental Counseling and Divinity (Pastoral Care). As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in private practice for 2 years, she helps people with anxiety, depression, and stress management. After graduation, she served as a Career Counselor at a university for 4 years, helping students of all ages manage anxiety and depression with career indecision. She also completed graduate training in non-profit, faith-based, and college settings.

Tavonda focuses on adults and teenagers, using cognitive behavior therapy to teach how thoughts and the "stories" we tell ourselves can cause years of emotional pain and suffering. Her first priority is to build a trusting relationship to create a safe environment for the healing journey to begin.

Certifications: National Certified Counselor (NCC) & Certified Career Counselor (CCC)
