Rev. Dr. Thaeda Franz is an interfaith minister and psychotherapist based in Wernersville, PA. She works with adults of all ages. Her many years of experience have taught her that most people seek help for: feelings of inadequacy and isolation; fear and shame in their various forms; and navigating trauma and the painful results of difficult relationships.
Rev. Dr. Franz has a passion for helping individuals who may be struggling with poor body image and who may have an unhealthy relationship with weight and/or food. She utilizes a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach, which focuses improving health without consideration of weight loss.
Trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Rev. Dr. Franz identifies and works with the sub-personalities or “families” that exist in each person’s psyche. Her holistic and highly intuitive approach to the counseling process considers all aspects of the person. Her therapeutic toolkit contains traditional techniques (reframing, examining core beliefs, etc.). Her toolkit also includes more esoteric practices like energy work and shamanic practices (“journeying”, soul retrieval, etc.). Past clients have reported experiencing a deeper sense of connection to themselves and an enhanced ability to trust their inner wisdom because of this work. Rev. Dr. Franz's compassionate and energetic style includes deep listening and humor. which can be a vital part of the therapeutic process. She focuses on creating a safe therapeutic environment.
Although Rev. Dr. Franz obtained her PhD in counseling from Liberty University, she does not endorse the institution’s homophobic and prejudicial views. Ordained by One Spirit Learning Alliance as an interfaith minister in 2018, she is passionate about body liberation; limiting the impact of patriarchy; and supporting LGTBQIA + folx and other marginalized populations. Certified as a tele-mental health specialist, all her services are provided via telehealth.
