Therese Grieco is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor located in Columbus, OH, who offers both in-person sessions (Tuesdays) and video/virtual sessions (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays). Therese is passionate about providing expecting mothers and new mothers the emotional support they need as they go through the transition into parenthood. She understands the unique impacts that pregnancy and motherhood have on women’s mental health, and provides culturally-competent care. Therese also supports individuals who are going through grief, such as after a death or an unforeseen life transition. In addition, Therese has extensive training and practice in working with couples.
Therese has completed a post-graduate program through The Postpartum Stress Center and a 2-Day Certificate Training through Postpartum Support International. Furthermore, she has completed training in the Gottman Method (Level III) and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (Externship and Core Skills). She uses cognitive-behavioral, emotionally-focused, and person-centered techniques with her clients, encouraging them to become aware of their healthy and unhealthy coping strategies. She provides an empathetic, compassionate space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, all while equipping them with new perspectives and self-care tools.
Therese earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from Cincinnati Christian University (2011). Her life experience informs her practice, and when appropriate, she feels comfortable discussing the role of faith in mental health. She recognizes that each client has a story that deserves to be honored and cherished. Her goal is to help guide that story towards healthier, happier relationships and life stages.
