Thomas F Hayes is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). He works individually through teletherapy with adults and seniors. Currently Mr. Hayes is only engaging with clients through teletherapy. In his practice Mr. Hayes encounters many clients with depression and anxiety issues. Many of Tom's clients are men who are unhappy and frustrated with their lives for a variety of issues, including career "burnout" and relationship issues.
Tom has extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and also incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into his sessions with clients. Mr. Hayes has recently completed an ACT training course. In session, Tom likes to be interactive with his clients, listening intently to what they are communicating and together forming a treatment plan to use for the therapy process. This approach engages clients in the process as well as helping to keep them accountable to primarily themselves.
Mr. Hayes' style would best be described Humanistic, viewing the client as a "whole"; any dysregulation is considered impacting the "whole" which will be the focus of treatment. Mr. Hayes also follows a person-centered therapist approach, encouraging clients to engage in ongoing processing, possibly engaging in some restating to better understand the client as well as the client needs.
Thomas F Hayes received his Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from The IL. School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL. Mr. Hayes has worked and gained extensive experience in many different settings as a therapist for 20 years. Mr. Hayes went into private practice in 2019.
