Professional statement

Tracey is a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor. While pursuing her internship hours for her graduate program, Tracey decided to join LIRA Long Island Recovery Association, a recovery-based organization. She became involved with this organization because they advocate for those suffering with substance abuse. Every year they would go up to Albany and talk to senator and their aids to convey the needs and stigma of those suffering from substance abuse. She attended two years in a row and became involved with this organization. By being involved with this organization, she became more aware of the stigma that those suffering from substance entail and how hard it can be to get support. Those years influenced her and enlightened a deep empathy for those suffering from substance abuse. She gained experience in community residences and supportive housing as an assistant manager.

Message to clients

When working with clients, I will provide a safe environment and actively listen to your concerns and issues. When you begin therapy, you start the path to wellness and leading the life you visualize. I believe therapy should be a solution-oriented and collaborative process where the goals are and the intervention is research-based. I can't imagine how you feel. But I can listen when you need to talk. Finally, Take everything one day at a time. And on the more challenging days, give me a call.

I follow what I call "benevolent curiosity." My role in the room is to ask questions and use my own emotional bell weather system to reconstruct what you are experiencing in your life from your perspective. The questions asked are not to make you upset intentionally but to ensure I understand your point of view. I'll have more questions, experiential exercises, relaxation/productivity techniques, reading suggestions, and interpretations throughout each session. My extensive training and education will inform this feedback.
