Professional statement

Tyler Willis is a licensed psychotherapist who specializes in helping adults in their 20s and 30s navigate the challenges of modern life. Whether you're struggling with anxiety or stress, feeling stuck in your career, or facing relationship challenges, Tyler can help you gain the clarity and perspective you need to make positive changes in your life.

Tyler takes a holistic and individualized approach to his clients' well-being. His approach is rooted in mindfulness-based therapy, a powerful and evidence-based method that can help individuals improve focus, boost productivity, and achieve their goals while maintaining balance and well-being. He works closely with clients to understand their unique needs and goals, and together they create a personalized plan to help them overcome stress and achieve success in both their personal and professional life.

Tyler also provides therapy at San Diego’s first psychedelic-assisted therapy clinic, with previous experience as a therapist at Sharp HealthCare's outpatient programs, and as a crisis intervention specialist at a fire department. He also provides clinical supervision and business coaching for early career and pre-licensure therapists, especially those seeking careers in psychedelic-assisted therapy. Outside of private practice, he enjoys DJing house music, lifting weights, and traveling the world out of a small backpack.

Message to clients

By working together, I hope to provide you with the clarity and perspective needed to make positive changes in your life. Together, we can explore your concerns and create a plan that will help you feel more in control of your life.

My approach is based on mindfulness, which I've found to be very effective with my clients and personally in my own life. I prefer to work with clients who are interested in developing a meditation practice, as it lays the groundwork for improved mental fitness and well-being. I specialize in helping clients use mindfulness to increase their self-awareness and change unproductive habits with a scientifically validated approach called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Our collaboration has the potential to give you the clarity and understanding needed to bring about positive changes in your life. Together, we can work through your concerns and create a plan that helps you feel more in control. If you're ready to take the first step towards feeling more in charge, please reach out to me.

Therapist's note

My self-pay rate is $200 per 50-minute session. Many PPO, POS, and HDHP insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that help clients get reimbursed for therapy.

To use these benefits, you can first check your deductible, which is the amount you need to pay out of pocket for health services before your insurance benefits kick in. Once the deductible is met, you can start getting reimbursed anywhere from 40-80% for my services, depending on your plan’s benefits. Finally, to claim reimbursement, you will need to submit out-of-network claims to your insurance company.
