Valerie is trained in Motivational Intervieewing, Mindfulness, CBT, solution-focused techniques, in the philosophy that our thoughts, feelings, and bodies are connected. Addressing life stressors with this in mind, is vital to find one's footing and develop a sense of peace. This approach supports clients to experience a sense of relief and a shift in mindset, leaving themselves feeling empowered and able to manage their lives.

Valerie's style is warm, non-judgemental, compassionate, and open. When clients first start therapy, she spends time to get to understand his/her/their reason for engaging in therapy, gather some background information, and provide small tasks to start the change process.

Valerie received her MSW, LCSW from UC Berkeley and recently became a Certified Financial Counselor. She has worked at local hospital and clinic settings throughout the Bay Area. Outside of private practice, Valerie is a mother, animal lover, nature enthusiast, financial educator, and enjoys filling her passport with new adventures (when possible!).
