Professional statement

Wardeh is a licensed clinical social worker with working virtually and in-person in Manhattan (Flatiron). She works with adults struggling with trauma, sexual/relationship problems, grief/bereavement, chronic medical conditions, work difficulties, anxiety, and depression. Wardeh is also an AASECT-certified sex therapist.

Wardeh has personal and professional experience with acculturation and specializes in providing cross-cultural therapy for multiracial/multi-cultural issues. Additionally, she also integrates specialized approaches in her work with queer Muslim identities and queer Middle Eastern/North African/South Asian identities. She strives to provide a non-judgmental and safe space for LGBTQIA+, kink, and poly persons of color.

Wardeh utilizes an eclectic approach that includes psychodynamic, relational, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapies. With sessions that are client-focused, she takes time getting to know her clients before developing an individualized treatment plan that takes into account their background. She helps clients learn how to manage their symptoms and change their thought patterns while also exploring how past experiences have shaped who they are today.

When working with LGBTQIA+ clients, Wardeh understands that coming out may not be an option. Instead, she will validate their identity regardless of their decision to publicly disclose their sexual or gender orientation.

Wardeh deeply cares about each of her clients and wants them to feel supported on their journey towards healing and growth. Prior to working in private practice, she worked in hospital settings treating a variety of mental health conditions. She also facilitates a support group for the Middle Eastern/North African LGBTQIA+ community in NYC.
