Whitney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has been practicing for over seven years. She received her Clinical Master’s Degree from New York University and is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS) from the Institute for Adolescent Trauma Treatment and Training at Adelphi University School of Social Work. Is is also trained in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and she holds training in both yoga (level 2) and Transcendental Meditation.
Throughout her years of practice she has worked with families, children, teens and adults. Whitney specializes in anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-esteem, peer relationships, major life transitions and coping skills etc. Whitney prides herself on her eclectic style of counseling as she believes each client is unique and deserves an individualized approach to their case (one size does not fit all). Whitney draws from psychodynamic theory, attachment theory and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) interventions. She also utilizes art, deep breathing, body movement and guided meditation to help my clients achieve their goals. This client centered approach connects clients to their unique strengths while helping them discover the best versions of themselves.
