American Board of Professional Psychology, ABPP Psychologist, PhDWilliam Hasek is a Board Certified Clinical Psychologist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Many of Williams’s clients come in when they are struggling to navigate major life transitions, address relationship problems, and gain greater insight into themselves. William is particularly passionate about serving early career professionals, emerging adults, and gay men. William is certified to offer teletherapy in a variety of states, and he may be able to see you even if you live outside of Pennsylvania.
William’s training focused primarily on existential, humanistic, and psychodynamic therapy. His approach to therapy focuses on gaining insight into your family and developmental history, recognizing your core strengths and values, and making intentional decisions about how to move forward in life. In session, William focuses on exploration of your past and present, identifying the key choices you face at this juncture in your life, and finding ways you can live in accordance with your deepest held values. This approach supports clients to understand their personality, hold themselves accountable for making changes, and improve their relationships.
William believes that therapy is a collaborative process. You are the expert on your life, and he is the expert on the science of the mind. The therapy process is about combining your expertise with his – not about him telling you what to do. During your first session, William will discuss your present challenges, explore the factors contributing to these challenges, and describe how therapy can be of help. William believes that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in the change process. He is dedicated to providing a relationship characterized by honesty, transparency, and care.
