As a therapist with several marginalized identities, Borkai understands the effects that disparities have on our mental health and well-being. He takes the humanistic, existentialism, feminist, and multiculturalism approaches to counseling. As your therapist, he will collaborate with you on making the hard things easier to sit with.
Borkai is interested in trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, LGBTQIA+ topics, etc. There are various treatment modalities that will fit your needs. He will provide the tools on how to minimize your symptoms. He is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
LGBTQIA, gender, & sexuality topics - Exploring topics of sexuality, gender, and identity; coping with discrimination and oppression; navigating relationship, family, and cultural challenges
Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
