Professional statement

Yang Yang set out to be a therapist because he wanted to help minimize the stigma surrounding seeking therapy in the Asian Pacific Islander (API) community. Yang noticed there was a troubling lack of therapists who had a similar background as him equipped with a strong foundation in cultural competence around issues affecting the Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) communities. Yang has struggled to find a therapist that embodies these values and traits. So now, as a licensed therapist, he is committed to creating an environment that is inclusive, affirming, and safe for his clients, especially those who have been historically excluded and minoritized.

Whether it’s life challenges and transitions, coming to terms with your identity, or concerns about your personal, familial, or professional relationships, Yang is here to assist and guide you through this process. Yang provides virtual therapy appointments, so you can get support from the comfort of your own home. Together with Yang, you can work towards your goals and create a happier, more fulfilling life.

Yang Yang is trained in many different therapy modalities including but not limited to Brainspotting and IFS (Internal Family Systems).

Message to clients

I provide individual therapy through Telehealth (virtual) for adults living in California or Wisconsin. Among other modalities, I am trained as a BrainSpotting Practitioner. I am currently training in Internal Family Structural (IFS) level 1 and Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies & Research. Here are some things we can work on:

+ Improve Your Emotional Well-being- my goal is to help you thrive and overcome challenges. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or self-identity, I am here to support you with a combination of evidence-based techniques and a personalized approach.

+ Discover Personal Growth and Healing- by addressing the underlying causes of your emotional distress and providing tools for self-care, I will help you embark on a journey of personal growth and healing. Through therapy sessions tailored to your unique needs, you can develop resilience, confidence, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

+ Create a Life of Authenticity and Fulfillment- together, we can explore your aspirations, values, and vision for a fulfilling life. By aligning your actions with your true self, you can experience a greater sense of authenticity and create meaningful connections with others. Let’s work towards building a life that brings you joy, purpose, and fulfillment.

I will create a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals. Together, we can navigate through your life stressors, transitions, and/or any issues related to identity. My virtual therapy sessions provide convenience and flexibility for those in California and Wisconsin.
