Psychologist, PsyDDr. Yonina Slochowsky is a clinical psychologist based in Long Island, New York. She works with adult women, prioritizing the impact of biological and societal factors on their mental health. While Yonina loves to work with women across adulthood, she specializes in working with women experiencing infertility challenges, mental health challenges during pregnancy and postpartum, and women and mothers in the workforce.
Yonina primarily practices Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, where she works collaboratively with her clients to understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors may be impacting how they understand themselves, others, and the world around them. Yonina is trained in other therapeutic orientations and draws from them when appropriate, like Interpersonal Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Psychodynamic Therapy. Her work is also informed by current events and society at large, as we do not live in a vacuum and are constantly impacted by the world around us. Yonina uses warmth, humor, and honesty to help clients work towards their personal goals and create meaningful change in their own lives.
Yonina has worked in numerous settings, including college counseling, psychiatric hospitals, and medical facilities across New York. She has completed specialized training in working with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and perinatal loss and grief.

Work stress - Managing overwhelming stress and expectations; increasing effective ways of restoring and maintaining emotional stability and health; addressing challenging relationships with coworkers and bosses
Panic attacks / panic disorder - Brief, intense periods of overwhelming fear or anxiety
Women's issues - Therapy tailored to common concerns among women; providing a safe and understanding space to address life challenges, stressors, and questions around identity as a woman
