Zamira Pla is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Expressive Arts Therapist in Los Angeles, CA. She works with children, adolescents, and adults. Zamira is very passionate about being of service to others. She assists her clients in deeply exploring and processing their life through a warm and collaborative relationship. She usually calls it "going down the rabbit hole" and coming out with the knowledge and intuition to live a balanced, connected life. Zamira believes that the stress, anxiety, depression, and/or trauma we have experienced/felt or are currently experiencing can be transformed into experiences that can teach us instead of hinder us. She feels that integrating and loving all parts of the Self is an important aspect of her work with her clients. She assists her clients in balancing treatment by doing deep work while learning skills that they can utilize daily (such as problem solving, interpersonal, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and emotional regulation skills, among others). Zamira challenges her clients to look deeper into themselves while meeting them where they are and acknowledging their journey with compassion and love.
Zamira uses interventions or modalities of treatment such as Expressive Arts therapy (which include visual arts, dance/movement, music/sound, theater, writing, nature, etc), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Embodiment Coaching and Embodiment Yoga Coaching, Jungian, Sand-tray, and Play therapy, among others. Zamira also utilizes the senses (smell, sound, kinesthesia, touch, sight) to increase her clients’ awareness of themselves, bodies, space, connection, relationships, feelings, etc.
Outside of private practice, Zamira loves to create music, movement, visual arts, and poetry. She loves to learn, connect with others, and expand as if to bring the universe to her life every day.
