As a therapist I know that life can often present you with problems that challenge your ability to successfully cope with certain situations on your own. You may either feel flooded by emotional responses or you may find yourself shutting down, turning off the system which appears to be disrupting your life. The problem with shutting down in an attempt to escape the feelings, is that the result can be isolation which then leads to increased sadness, stressed relationships, and depression. I would like to be able to offer you a safe, protected place to talk about yourself and your struggles so that change can happen through a gentle, accepting process that will allow you to gain knowledge about yourself and allow you to regain your footing through self-acceptance.

Big feelings are hard! Especially when you are small and don’t have very many words yet. Parenting, even at the best of times, isn’t always easy. Sometimes, the people we love the most are the most difficult to talk to about the things that are really bothering us. I love helping individuals and families learn to communicate with each other kindly, and honestly. My work is attachment based, and grounded in developmentally appropriate skill building and emotional regulation. I will work with you and your child together and individually, to learn new ways to identify feelings and the behaviors that come with those feelings. Parenting (and growing up) can be made easier, and I’m here to help.

You've taken an important first step by being here at this site at this very moment. For many people, they are not quite sure what they want from therapy but they know they want something to be different. Perhaps you no longer want anxiety, stress or previous traumatic experiences to hold you back from your fullest potential. Perhaps you see a need to focus on self care and want to create work/life balance. Perhaps you're reevaluating your career or workplace environment and want to deepen your sense of meaning and purpose. Perhaps you have explored plant medicine, entheogenics, or psychedelics and are looking to integrate the information and experience. Perhaps something is holding you back from living your fullest potential, you're not quite sure what it is but you want to break-free of those limitations. Whatever it is that you'd like to see change, I will be your partner in your growth and healing, you just have to show up.

It takes courage and self-care to reach out for help. Thank you for considering me as a Caring Presence in your healing process. You can feel safe to talk about whatever you need to because I work collaboratively, and my calmness and compassion undergird the therapy. Clients often talk about relationships with others, self and/or their body. My interactive and intuitive style helps you to recognize internal resources and use them, along with my support, to relieve distress and build energy for change.
I specialize in Somatic Psychotherapy and Clinical Hypnosis. Somatic (or Body) Psychotherapy helps you to feel more connected to and grounded in your body during times of stress and uncertainty. Change occurs by listening to, learning from and living more fully into your body. Change also can be fostered by taking a vacation from your body in Clinical Hypnosis, and then returning with less tension and greater calm. While I have extensive experience with a wide variety of medical conditions, the way I work can benefit you in healing from many emotional, relational and physical issues.
