Therapists Specializing in Men'S Health in Denver

Mental health challenges can affect anyone, regardless of gender or sex. That said, men experience higher rates of some mental health conditions and tend to be less likely to receive treatment than women. This could be because men’s mental health remains, to some extent, tied up with traditional gender expectations and roles. As a result, some men are apprehensive about speaking about their emotions, disclosing their difficulties, or seeking help. Many experience loneliness, depression, or anxiety. Seeking the opinion of a professional regarding a mental health concern is an important step towards recovery and part of an important recognization that everyone struggles at times.

Many different therapeutic modalities can be beneficial for the range of potential mental health challenges. The best-fitting therapy will depend on each individuals’ preferences, as well as the specific difficulties experienced.

Discuss the options with one of the therapists below who specializes in men’s mental health, many of whom are men themselves. Some men prefer to find a male therapist with whom they feel comfortable developing a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship. Therapists in Denver have been vetted by the Zencare team for clinically rigorous, quality care. Visit their profiles to watch an introductory video and book a free initial call to find a good fit!

While our thoughts influence our actions, they don’t control our actions. We don’t always consider this dynamic when we feel stuck and uncertain of how to move forward in life. If you've ever wondered if there's more to life, then I am here to assist you in discovering what's important to you, while cultivating greater self-awareness. Often it's our interpretations of what we experience that is the cause of our distress and suffering. From a mindfulness-based, acceptance and commitment approach, learn how to become open to what is present in your life, while being a willing participant to do what matters.

I have 12 years of experience utilizing various therapeutic approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. I have extensive experience working with Military Veterans and Animal-Assisted Therapy.

After a decade of clinical experience, I believe therapeutic experiences can be the key that helps clients unlock desired changes. If you know that change is needed in your life, then let's get to work on moving you in the direction of the person you wish to become.

I specialize in navigating complex power struggles and inner conflicts. Great suffering may be present with paradoxical feelings and associated vulnerabilities and insecurities. This also means there's tremendous potential for vitality and self-actualization to emerge. True growth. Perhaps you feel this intuitively already? Creating a less stressful, healthier, and more satisfying plateau in life should be of interest to you. Clarifying confusion and getting to the root of their origins should also be part of your motivation here. However, meeting someone else's mind along the way, a savvy guide, can be quite useful at times.

It's a very positive step to start caring for yourself, but it's not easy. As a therapist, my first job is to make that a little easier by creating a welcoming, safe and supportive environment. My second aim is to listen to your priorities, which helps me to offer education and options for treatment. We're partners in learning about your development and current challenges, and I believe this leads to effective therapies.

As a psychiatrist, I can offer a look into how your body and brain affect your mental well-being, and this helps with accurate diagnosis and sometimes with medication choices. I always explain the specific benefits of medications and their potential side effects, giving you the tools to make good choices in this area.

I am also committed to providing talk therapy to many of my patients because I think it creates more profound and long-lasting improvements for them.

Thanks very much for reading about me and my practice. I currently offer both in-person and video sessions. You can contact me through the Zencare link, and I'm happy to reach out and answer questions. I wish you well in finding the right therapist.

I started my private practice so that I can use my skills and knowledge to help others live the life they want. I learned that people often go to therapy confused and struggling between what they should be doing and what they want to be doing. The goal of talking to me is to get you closer to what you want out of life. It is my desire to help every person create a roadmap to success by being more authentic and honest with who they are deep down inside. It is easy to fall into a trap of making everyone around us happy and lie to ourselves every day that the life people believe we should have, is the life we want.

I found a passion to help others achieve happiness through honesty by first being honest with myself, and I bring this honesty into every session. I am not the type of therapist to sit across from you and only say things you want to hear. I want to have an honest conversation with you which requires me to be blunt at times, but I do so with respect, acceptance, and compassion. My role as your therapist is to shine a light into the blind spots of your life so that we can discover the tools you need to build a happy and successful future.

As a sports counselor and former athlete, I love working with athletes and performers through challenges related to sport and the hardships of life. You might be facing the unique trials of a current or former Olympian or professional athlete, balancing life as a collegiate or high school student athlete, or navigating the difficulties of youth sport. And whether you are facing a mental health concern, could use some extra support, or seek meaningful growth, I want to be a part of helping you strive towards pursuing mental/emotional health and well-being, achieving your goals, processing your story, and overcoming tough circumstances both on and off the field. Adversity in sport can impact every area of daily functioning just as challenges in life can seriously impact the ability to perform well in sport, often times they're deeply interconnected. I would be honored to walk with you through those challenges.

All you need to bring to therapy is an open mind and a willingness to explore. I am a very interactive therapist; I give a lot of feedback and guidance. In my work with individuals, I help people see how they developed the coping skills and defense mechanisms they did, and how to begin recognizing them in a less judgmental way. I also teach couples new communication skills: how to rebuild trust and safety after a breach, how to mirror one another, ways to validate and empathize. We work on breaking bad patterns and create healthier ones using positivity and appreciations.

It's so rewarding to help children, couples and families heal old and current wounds, and to see my clients use therapy as a way to soar to new emotional freedoms. Please don't be in pain anymore: contact me so we can set goals together, develop healthier ways of coping, and watch you blossom

Some therapists focus on “problems,” “disorders” or what’s “wrong” with people—I do things a little differently. By helping you identify your strengths and support your capability to design and achieve new outcomes for yourself, you become the source of positive change in your life.

I don’t pretend to have the answers to all life’s questions. I am, however, prepared to create a safe environment where you can gain insight into your life, discover new possibilities and make new choices to create the life you want.

You are worth the investment—contact me today to get you back on the path to your best self.

Good therapy works. However, there are often barriers between you and "good therapy." It's hard to find a therapist that is a fitting match, hard to look at your life with honesty, and hard to work on becoming a better person. I understand that this process of finding a therapist is oftentimes daunting, frustrating, and difficult. Whether we end up working together or not, I want to use this message to encourage you to take a deep breath, relax your shoulders, and keep at it. It typically works best for clients to schedule consultations with a couple different therapists, and try to get a sense for which pairing feels like a good fit. Trust your gut - you'll know it when you find it. All the while, I hope you remember one thing that I find to be abundantly clear: good therapy works!

Life can be rough, I have no illusions about that. Even so, I really believe that good therapy can change lives. You may have tried therapy before and found it unhelpful, or you may be sitting on the fence, unsure what you'd be getting yourself into. I get that, I've been there too. All I can say is that I really am hopeful. Honestly hopeful. I believe that almost every client can be helped, and that with the right therapist (and therapy), you can be helped too.

Therapy can help you get to know yourself in a very special way. It's unlike anything else. In sessions, you may find yourself feeling completely new feelings and finally gaining insights into very old and confusing patterns. While therapy is hard work, I believe that it's truly and deeply worthwhile.

This is not work that anyone can do alone. We don't know what we don't know, and we simply can't get much perspective on our own selves. Mindfulness and other forms of meditation can be very good, but ultimately they won't expose our blind spots. An attentive, kind, and well trained therapist makes this type of work possible, although only you can make the decision to face and heal the most painful parts of yourself.

I hope to meet you, and to help you in whatever way I can.
