Confronting intense and painful thoughts and emotions, and seeking guidance around parenting comes with vulnerability. It really helps to sit down with a professional who has concrete, evidence-based solutions, but offers them in a non-judgmental, supportive, client-driven way.

I offer psychotherapy for individuals, with a focus on college students and young professionals. People seek therapy in times of frustration, suffering, and dissatisfaction--in my practice I take time to understand what brings you in and take a deep, collaborative approach to treatment. Whether you are looking into therapy to deal with a one-time event or to manage a lifetime stressor, together we can facilitate change to help redirect your time and energy from distress towards living a fulfilling life.
My training spans many areas of mental health and I have experience with many problems that bring people to therapy. My particular areas of expertise are those most often encountered by 18-35 year olds, including anxiety and stress, depression, sexuality, and confusion about relationships and careers.
My motto is caring curiosity. Together we can develop a trusting relationship to help you understand and change what ails you. Please contact me to discuss how we might begin and visit my website to learn more about my practice.

Deciding to see a therapist requires awareness and regard for oneself. I have deep respect for what has brought you here, and this will form the foundation of our work together. Perhaps you seek therapy now because of a crisis that is presenting new challenges or bringing up old, unresolved problems. Or you now feel ready to address a long-standing pattern that has caused much difficulty and pain over time. These burdens may be affecting not only your relationships with others but also how you relate to yourself. My job is to help you expand your capacity for what you can do alone.

I offer a combination of psychoanalytic and CBT/DBT informed approaches while being mindful of both the universality and cultural individuality of our experiences. I have worked extensively with a range of people, from those in the throes of PTSD or addiction to ones dealing with transitions or looking for greater connection in relationships.

I hold the conviction that exploration of the past is necessary as it influences and shapes our circumstances, while at times being present to our anxieties and resources in the moment is crucial. By coming here, you have already begun your work. If you think that I may be of help, let us have a conversation. It would be my privilege to talk with you.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I work with adults and older teens on a range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and stress. People who call me are often feeling overwhelmed or distressed. Many are curious about how therapy could help them. I have extensive experience with a number of different approaches to help you feel better.
I have been seeing clients for many years. I have developed expertise in treating anxiety, depression, and addressing relationship difficulties, parenting, and life stress. I draw from a variety of approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and interpersonal therapy (IPT), which focuses on relationships.
Some people are looking to learn skills and coping techniques. Some are looking to understand familiar patterns that are getting in their way. I want therapy to be helpful and targeted to your needs. I can address the here and now--what is on your plate today? What is coming up for you this week? We can focus on these issues to help you manage and feel supported. I also work with people on issues that have been present for some time. We can work to better understand these patterns so that they no longer interfere with things you want in life.
After we have an initial phone conversation, we will meet so that you can tell me about yourself. During our first meeting, I will listen closely to your story--attending to both your difficulties and your strengths and capacities. We will likely meet another time and then together, we will make a plan that best addresses your needs. It is important to me that I offer an environment that feels supportive, safe, and helpful.

Sometimes we all need a little perspective. Sometimes when individuals feel overwhelmed by pain, confusion, sadness, & anxiety, it feels impossible or improbable for things to get any worse, much less any better. Do you feel stuck, suffocated, or always just a little bit behind? It's so easy to feel like who and where we want to be is unattainable. I know that you are the expert on your own life experience, and I believe what I bring to the table are the tools to help you feel more empowered, confident, and at peace with who you are. Sometimes gaining outside perspective & validation is what you need to come to an understanding of who you are at your very core, and to like the person you find there!

I feel that finding the right therapist is so important to the quality of treatment and achieving success for set goals. I believe that it is hard to take the first step to come to therapy and it is therefore even more important to find someone you can connect to and feel comfortable with. My mission for all of my clients is to partner with them to achieve their goals and to empower them to obtain and maintain the skills in their own lives so that they eventually come to therapy to check in rather than to confront a crisis.

People often come to therapy in times of crisis, but individuals certainly don’t need to be experiencing crisis to seek out and benefit from therapy. In fact, everyone struggles at one point or another and often we need just a little bit of help to move in a more positive direction. Therapy should be a collaboration between clients and their therapists with the goal of exploring what is most important to them and what they want their lives to be about. Together, we can work to establish new ways of viewing and approaching struggles so that they are more able to build and live a rich, full and meaningful life.

Welcome! It does take courage to reach out for help; you don’t have to be alone.

Many find that talking with a therapist helps them to identify their feelings, improve communication and connection to others, find the strength to make necessary changes, and to live a more meaningful life.

I strive to create an atmosphere of respect, safety and acceptance, in order to build a trusting relationship with clients. My goal as a therapist is to help clients to understand themselves better, treat themselves better, and live more satisfying and meaningful lives. Many find that talking with a therapist helps them to identify their feelings, improve communication and connection to others, find the strength to make necessary changes, and to live a more authentic life.

If you are experiencing distress from excessive anxiety or other painful emotions, or going through a period of transition, together we can discuss how I may be able to help.

Everyone needs a safe place to be themselves. This becomes even more important if you are struggling in your life and looking to heal and grow. My priority with everyone I meet is to first hear you, see you, and understand. If you are struggling with not feeling like yourself, feeling anxious, stressed, overwhelmed, angry, lost, confused, manic, or depressed coming to a place where you can bring all that you feel can be a life-altering experience. In my practice, being kind, accepting and compassionate come first. From there I guide a session to support you to understand yourself better and build skills. Skill building may include learning meditation and mindfulness, body-based coping skills, or mindfulness based cognitive behavioral exercises. Much of human communication and self-understanding is done at the body level. When we pay attention to the body or use music, images, clay or colors we can garner a deeper understanding of yourself, your needs and your strengths.
