It takes courage to ask for help. My goal is to help you go from feeling stuck in some area of your life, to achieving your own definition of success. It is time to close the gap between where you are right now and where you want to be in the future.

Life is not easy no matter who you are. We all have our own individual struggles, our own stories, moments of celebration among moments of sadness. I look forward to hearing your story and getting to know you.

Welcome and thank you for deciding to invest some energy in the quality of your life, sexual satisfaction, and your overall happiness. I am passionate about my work and believe that you get out what you put in. If you are willing to commit to therapy and choose to discover yourself in a way that will allow you to be fully present and happy on a daily basis I give you credit.

I believe we all have the strengths and abilities to accomplish our dreams. I also believe that having a guide or a teacher facilitate your discovery process is tremendously valuable. You may know yourself very well, and still, to gain the perspective of another is an awareness that revitalizes your connection in relationships and in the world. I will support you, challenge you, and guide you to create a more authentic and purpose-driven life. I will help you heal from past hurts and develop skills to experience more passionate loving relationships.

It takes courage to reach out for support and guidance when we feel lost, distressed, confused or uncertain. You have already taken a brave step forward just by considering counseling for yourself or your relationship (either for the first time or again). My goal is to meet you – in whatever state you find yourself – with empathy and acceptance, and provide a safe, caring, and consistent therapeutic relationship in which we collaborate on identifying and moving toward the changes and growth opportunities that matter most to you.

My approach is practical and flexible, and frequently incorporates humor, profanity as well as mindfulness and self-compassion practices. In our sessions, I will work with you to recognize and capitalize on your strengths while also introducing you to tools that support you in coping better with your vulnerabilities. Our work will focus largely on your present experiences, feelings and relationships along with your vision for the future. We will likely also explore your childhood experiences and past traumas to the extent that this helps increase your capacity for self-compassion and your ability to modify self-defeating behavior and relationship patterns in the present.

I have special training in perinatal mental health issues such as fertility and family planning, pregnancy and postpartum, miscarriage and infant loss, birth trauma, NICU stays, developmental concerns, and navigating early parenting with a partner or as a single parent. I work with women, men and LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples needing support around any such perinatal issues.

All of my work with clients is strongly informed by my personal experience being treated for major depression and anxiety at various points in my life, including during pregnancy and postpartum. I’ve had extensive counseling (both individual and group), taken psychotropic medications, used alternative medicine treatments and experienced psychiatric hospitalization as well as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). I share these details with you in service of removing the stigma associated with admitting to having mental illness and seeking the necessary treatment.

No emotional challenge is too big to work on, and it would be my privilege to accompany you on your journey toward a healthier, more satisfying life.

During the current public health crisis, I can offer you all my emotional resources to help you feel safe and grounded. I am currently working via phone and video sessions (FaceTime or Zoom) to address people’s need for contact, support and direction. I specialize in working with diverse populations—also the Hollywood industry--to help address loneliness, concerns about finances, relationship distress and worries about survival. I feel it is important to use this challenging time to make meaning out of this societal change, to find out what’s being asked from each of us to grow. I am open to your call and to see how I might help.

My way of working is to help you feel safe and cared for. We can address your fears, worried and anxieties. Solutions can be discovered through dialogue. As we work to solve some pressing concerns, we can also address the search for greater meaning and deeper purpose that comes from facing a crisis. I will talk with you as a companion in your journey. I work with all people and specialize in working with LGBTQ clients, women and people of color and men struggling with today's health crisis and other pressures.

Therapy is an opportunity to slow down—at least for an hour or so—to have a conversation with yourself.  I will be there as an engaged and compassionate guide to help you navigate difficult feelings and conflicts and move toward a closer, more joyful connection with yourself and others.

My goal is to lend you my mind and sometimes my nervous system to help you stay in the present, calm and grounded, so that you feel empowered to be your best self.

As a couple therapist I am an active participant in helping you express feelings and needs to your partner(s); learn new ways to short-circuit conflict; and heal painful ruptures in the relationship.  As a sex therapist for individuals and couples my hope is for you to have access to pleasure and connection and confidence in your ability to make healthy choices.

I know how hard it can be to struggle emotionally, feel lost, and perhaps even hopeless. Frequently, despite our best efforts, we cannot get out of our stuck patterns or reach the well-being that we deserve. I get it. Life is really complex, and it's really hard to navigate all its layers. However, please be assured that healing and thriving is possible. All that's needed is your continued courage for healing and support from the outside. I’ll be honored to be your support on that journey.

My goal as a therapist is to help clients hear themselves, feel their emotions and build greater awareness of what they want and need to thrive.  I strive to support my clients' connection to their own wisdom and to help clients balance action, insight and acceptance.

I believe that each of our lives is an ecosystem, comprised of the interconnecting forces that influence our well-being. This includes our relationships with other people, with cultural and economic forces and even our own bodies. When we suffer trauma or fall out of balance, we are often left feeling anxious, depressed, or lost. Therapy can be an invaluable tool finding our way to vitality and connectedness.

I also believe that some of the distress that we experience cannot be separated from the political, cultural and economic environment in which we live.  I am interested in finding ways to connect the emotional healing and improved self-care often associated with therapy to broader social movements working to promote a fairer, more resilient, more sustainable world. I’m also interested in neuroscience, mindfulness practices and am well versed in recent scientific research about the impacts of social isolation on physical and mental health outcomes. While I am a traditionally trained therapist, these influences also frequently appear in my work. I find that I often attract clients that are interested in exploring how cultural forces are also impacting our collective well being.

Those who come to me for therapy are seeking to go deep, to process and heal past hurts, and to cultivate more meaningful and rewarding connections and relationships in their lives. Many of the people I see are navigating expansive and challenging experiences of intimacy, relationships, trauma, grief, sexuality, and gender, or struggles with mental wellness that have either arisen suddenly or been present for many years.

In therapy I seek to build a relationship that allows you to process and understand vulnerable parts of yourself and deeply felt emotions while we also look together for ways to shift patterns and behaviors in order to build the life and relationships you long for. For those looking to process parts of yourself and past experience that you may have turned away from exploring in the past, I am ready to go there with you, providing support in navigating challenging emotions and circumstances to find your inner resilience and most authentic expression of yourself.
