If you have had a difficult school year and worried about how to start the next school year off right, this group is made for you. We will focus on developing practical skills to cope with anxiety while also getting organized in our thoughts and acts. Through the guidance of a trained professional and the support of peers in a similar situation, we will grow and overcome obstacles which held us back the year before. We will used evidenced based practices (like CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing) and learn to use them in the "real world". This group will begin June 16th and run through the end of July. Group Therapist
Bethany is a Mental Health Counselor Associate working with Healing Rhode Clinical Services. Bethany's clinical experience focuses on using evidence-based practices while working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues, life-transitions, grief and loss. Bethany has worked with a diverse clientele of adolescents and adults navigating the challenges of daily life and helping them recognize and change unhelpful patterns and move forward in the direction of their values.
She assists client by encouraging honest self-reflection and teaching coping skills and mindfulness techniques. Bethany aims to help her clients identify and harness the strengths they already possess while offering insight, skill-building and tools in service of their goals.
Bethany graduated with a BA undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Manhattan College and an MS graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rhode Island College. She completed internships at HopeHealth Hospice and JobCorps.
