ADHD Club

Description

ADHD Club is co-facilitated by Annalise Hammerlund (she/her) and Sy Bedrick (they/them), who both have lived experience with ADHD as well as additional training and experience offering executive skills coaching and facilitating peer groups. As facilitators, they strive to make a space that is affirming and open to people of various backgrounds, life experiences and marginalized identities.

ADHD Club offers unique perspectives into life with ADHD, with group discussions related to relationships, work, home life, school, managing personal care and much much more. Sy and Annalise encourage participants to take care of themselves and their needs throughout group time, and beyond. Support from the group can come in the form of affirmation, accountability (through things like body doubling), encouragement, or advice when requested.

The group is hosted on Google meet, and the private meeting link will be sent on the day of the group for all who are registered. Google meet offers accessibility options such as closed captioning.

More information on group expectations and how to register can be found on my website under the Calendar tab.

Group Therapist

Annalise Hammerlund is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Wyoming, MI. Annalise specializes in helping clients to express themselves not only through words, but also art, movement, dance, storytelling, and more. She is an Expressive Arts Therapist who works with children and adults. Many of her clients seek therapy to find strategies around ADHD, Autism, or mood disorders like anxiety and depression.

Annalise’s approach to therapy draws from therapy modalities like art therapy, dance movement therapy, expressive arts, mindfulness-based practices, Health at Every Size, and trauma-informed practice. She understands that sometimes, it’s difficult to talk about one’s emotions. However, even without words, it’s often helpful to express those feelings through other mediums. Annalise also helps clients better understand their internal thought patterns, their motivation to make healthy changes in their lives, and their daily attentional patterns.

Annalise earned a Master’s degree from Lesley University. She enjoys supporting clients through their own personal complexities and empowering them to better understand their mental health. By giving them different tools for self-expression, Annalise equips her clients to handle any challenging emotions that arise.
