Group Therapist
Dr. David Kahn is a psychiatrist with over 25 years of experience providing individual therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, and medication management. He has particular specialty in interpersonal issues (individual and group sessions), mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder), and personality disorders.
Dr. Kahn uses psychoanalytic and psychodynamic approaches, which focus on releasing one's repressed emotions and experiences as well as developing self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present behavior. He provides medication management to those patients who he feels might benefit from biological remedies alongside talk therapy.
Dr. Kahn received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School, and completed residencies in General Psychiatry and in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at St. Vincent's Medical Center. In addition to his private practice, he has trained and supervised other psychotherapists as well as clinicians and residents of Brown University Medical School.
