It’s time to start accepting your body as it was created. We are here to help! The group is led from a body-acceptance perspective with the main objective of finding peace with one’s body and oneself. When we stop fighting our own bodies, we gain the freedom to find joy in movement, feel comfort in our own skin, and remain present in our everyday experiences.
This is a weekly, online therapy group for those who desire a healthier view of themselves and a deeper understanding of how emotions are tied to disordered eating and self-image. Discussion topics include intuitive eating, media and cultural norms, mindfulness, diet culture, health at every size and more.
Anyone 18+ located in California is welcome to participate. This group is run through the non-profit Rock Recovery.
Elise has been providing therapy for the past seven years, since graduating from Regent University with a Master’s in Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of California, and has specialties in eating disorders, Christian-informed therapy, depression and anxiety. She is credentialed by the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist – Supervisor.
Elise is committed to providing flexible office hours for those with hectic schedules. She is available for sessions in the evenings and on weekends. Her office is located in West LA at 2001 S Barrington Avenue, and she also provides telehealth therapy sessions for those who would prefer to receive therapy from the comfort of their own homes.
Elise’s mission in life is to be a catalyst for others’ hope and healing. She’s seen life be messy, painful, chaotic, hilarious, ironic, confusing… dark and light and everywhere in between. She doesn’t believe in clichés or easy answers. She believes in the hard (but rewarding!) work of courageous vulnerability, authentic connection, feeling the feelings, rewriting old narratives, unconditional self-compassion and other-compassion, and wild, unrelenting hope.
