Support Group for Chronic Pain

Description

If you're suffering with chronic pain and are feeling isolated by the experience, this group might be for you. We gather together to create community with others who understand this experience without judgement. We also practice ways to change the relationship to the pain that is suffered, both physically and emotionally. We explore how to take back pieces of life that we've both lost to the pain and are meaningful to us.

Dr. Traci Hodes is a Licensed Psychologist in Hamden, CT who specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, and gender identity. Traci also has expertise in mindfulness, and works with clients to help cultivate a deeper understanding of their mind-body connection. Dr. Hodes often sees clients who are grappling to balance their own self-needs with daily stressors, ranging from work demands to family needs. Dr. Hodes often uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a complement to mindfulness practices, which can help clients alter their relationship with draining or negative emotions.

It is Dr. Hodes’s hope that, throughout the course of her time with each client, they will learn to shift from reactive responses towards a more mindfully responsive and resilient stance. She looks forward to working with you.
