Description
Participants do not need to identify as “artists” or be skilled in art to join, but rather, have an interest in reconnecting with their creative process. You may also be interested in these workshops if you would like to zoom out of a static day to day mindset, if you find comfort in reflecting on the metaphors of the natural world, and would like to be more intentional about connecting with yourself and the world around you.
Group Therapist
Heather Montemarano, ATR-BC, LPAT. LCAT is a registered, board certified, and licensed creative arts therapist in NY and NJ with over a decade of clinical experience. She specializes in working with adults and adolescents looking for personal enrichment, and who may be seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, eating disorders, the psychological impacts of long COVID and/or the psychological impacts of working/living through COVID, and life transitions.
She takes an integrative, humanistic approach in her practice, utilizing both the creative process and talk therapy in a flexible, client-centered way. You don’t need to be an artist or know much about art in order to try art therapy. It’s simply an alternative way to explore thoughts and feelings, and a viable tool to work toward symptom relief and goals.
