Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Group

Description

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is a skills based therapy focused on helping clients become more self aware and mindful of their emotional experiences, build strong and healthy relationships, master communication skills, more efficiently regulate their emotions, and build concrete skills to tolerate distress in times of crisis. Everyone can benefit from learning DBT skills. This therapy group is aimed at teaching these skills in an easy to understand way while also allowing space to process what is it like to actually practice the skills in the day to day. Group therapy is so special, because the peer support helps create an environment that combines learning, validation, and emotional support in a safe and nonjudgmental way. Hearing others have similar experiences to you can normalize things in your life that you may have always feared were "abnormal". This can be such a powerful and healing experience. Contact me for more information about individual or group DBT. The only requirement of this group is to have a therapist for individual therapy you are consistently seeing. This group is meant to be an added support and resource to your individual work. The next group series will launch March 22, 2023.
