Emily is a therapist in New York who works virtually with adults in New York and Florida who are motivated to make positive changes in their lives. Emily’s clients often begin therapy when they feel overwhelmed, need empathetic support, go through major life changes, or want to learn new skills to improve their lives. She aids them in this process by establishing a genuine connection, empowering them to realize their own potentials, and working with them to discover their strengths. Emily hopes to serve residents of New York as they cope with life’s stressors. Emily has advanced training in emotion regulation, self-esteem, and reducing feelings of shame.
Emily is trained in Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral therapies, which teach clients skills to use in their daily lives to regain control of and deepen their understanding of their emotional experiences. These approaches allow clients to feel hopeful and more prepared to take on life’s challenges.
Emily’s therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and inviting. When a client first comes in, Emily ensures they feel comfortable and spends time getting to know them and their experiences in a way that feels judgment-free and supportive. Emily is dedicated to establishing a genuine connection with clients in which clients feel valued and capable.
Emily received her Master’s in Social Work and Bachelor’s in Psychology and Counseling from the University at Buffalo. Emily has gained experience working with all different clients through her work in school social work department settings and as a psychotherapist in private practice. Outside of work, Emily enjoys reading everything she can get her hands on, spending time with her pets and loved ones, and snowboarding.
