Description
Give and receive support, resources, and guidance from others who are living with OCD. Facilitated by Grace Dickman, LCSW (she/her), who specializes in treating OCD using an integrative, flexible approach to exposure therapy.
Group Therapist
Grace helps queer creatives bring themselves more fully into the world. She specializes in working with people who have experienced trauma that taught them to suppress, avoid, or deny their needs. This commonly manifests as anxiety, OCD, LGBTQ+ identity concerns, and disconnectedness from self and others.
Grace is relatable and affirming. She uses genuine curiosity and humor to build relationships with clients. She will see you as a whole person - complex, evolving, and inherently worthy. She creates a safe space for you to connect with your inner resilience and continue moving towards what matters most, regardless of fear and uncertainty. She challenges you to consider alternate perspectives, learn how to identify your needs, and practice new skills for making change happen.
Grace uses evidence-based interventions such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention, and arts-based therapies. She always uses a trauma-focused approach and understands the client experience through the lens of gender, race, class, immigration status, and other social identifiers. Grace loves to bring creative resources such as music, literature, mindfulness, movement, and journaling into the healing space and encourages clients to do the same.
Grace worked in school-based nonprofits for 10+ years before opening her own private practice in New York in 2019.
