For therapists with 1-5 years in the Mental Health Field. Group members will explore and build up their identity as a clinician and combat potential feelings of perfectionism, the need to fix, the blurring of boundaries, difficulties creating work/life balance, and imposter syndrome. Members will gain experience being a group member and a support network of other like-minded therapists.
Group Therapist
Brittany is a NY Licensed Mental Health Counselor and NJ and Connecticut Licensed Professional Counselor. With a decade of experience in the mental health field, Brittany continues to bring her dedication, empathy, humor and encouragement into each client session she conducts. She has held many roles from clinical intern to clinical director and brings all of the teachings she has gained along the way into her private practice work today.
Brittany specializes in working with young adults with complex mental health challenges or multiple life stressors all occurring at once. She also works with parents to provide support in how to best help their child with mental health concerns or to provide individual therapy for parents who are ready to work on themselves as well. Brittany also loves to provide mentorship and counseling to other professionals in mental health and sees this as incredibly important work.
Brittany provides therapy from a relational framework and incorporates DBT, CBT and Executive Functioning skills most commonly in her work. She believes in venturing beyond clinical textbooks, embracing her own experiences and collaborative brainstorming to craft personalized solutions. Brittany’s speciality areas include, but are not limited to, Grief and Loss, Parenting, Executive Functioning, Mood Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder and Body Image.
Brittany’s non-judgmental presence and consistent demeanor establish a safe and predictable environment where people feel empowered to confront their challenges and embark on the path to healing. She is frequently people’s first call when they need a dose of positivity, some healthy perspective, and clear action steps to help them move forward from their problems, whether those problems are as simple as momentary frustrations or as complex as past trauma experiences.
