This eight-week group offers individuals and couples the opportunity to heal in the wake of grief and trauma. The meetings provide a safe shelter and support, as well as information, education and community resources.
Groups will utilize evidence-based approaches, including:
- CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy)
- ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
- IPT (Interpersonal Therapy)
Special speakers will be joining for some of the sessions.
People come to see Dr. Sarit Lesser when they feel overwhelmed with the demands of life—school, parenthood, or work. She helps mothers find balance between the demands of motherhood. She helps young adults manage the stressors of college-life and adulthood. In general, she helps individuals who are in the process of readjusting to new relationships, new roles, or identities, people who are looking to find ways to live more meaningful, fuller, and happier lives. Dr. Lesser also works with individuals struggling with medical conditions like heart disease and chronic pain. This is a focused short term therapy. When appropriate, therapy might be longer term.
Dr. Lesser focuses on people's strive for a life of meaning. In her approach, happiness comes from a life well-lived, in accordance with our values and goals. And difficulties are an integral part of this journey. She believes that life is too short to wait until we feel better to make the changes that we need, to create new goals, and to live the life that we want.
Dr. Lesser’s work is both evidence-based and holistic. She utilizes a variety of strategies like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, DBT, psychodynamic, mindfulness, and attachment-based therapies.
