One-hour support group for anxiety and depression and impending parenthood around infertility. Initial interview for eligibility and recommendations is $150. Group is 6-8 women max. Open to residents of NY, NJ, FL, TX, AL, AZ, AR, CT, DE, DC, GA, IA, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MI, MN, MO, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NC, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY and RI (as of 7/1/23)
Group Therapist
Dr. Carolyn AlRoy, has been a Licensed Psychologist and Coach located in NY and NJ, for over twenty years. She is seeing patients in her Greenwich Village and Hoboken, NJ offices, and via Zoom and telephone. She is authorized to do tele-therapy in Florida and most US states. She works with clients who are feeling anxious, angst and hopelessness, and sometimes have symptoms like insomnia, acid reflux, nausea, anxiety and panic attacks. Dr. AlRoy also works with individuals and couples who are stuck in relationships that have become frustrating, emotionally draining and sometimes toxic. Dr. AlRoy wants to empower those of you stuck in jobs they don't like to have satisfying and rewarding work. Dr. AlRoy helps clients whose alcohol use interferes with healthy living habits, particularly those who have gotten sober and are rebuilding their lives.
Dr. AlRoy’s training and experience her to support clients of different backgrounds, personalities, and mental health goals. She utilizes the Gottman and Rosenberg Methods with couples, teaching them emotional intelligence, and communication skills about their needs even when emotions run high, as well as conflict resolution. Dr. AlRoy helps you identify your therapeutic and life goals. She combines goal oriented cognitive behavioral approach to reduce anxiety and depression, with psychodynamic techniques to help clients learn about themselves and how they relate to others.
Dr. AlRoy earned a PsyD from Pace University, is an accredited ICF Coach, certified in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Early in her career she worked in research and participated in an NIMH funded national study. She works internationally and has been interviewed for articles, podcasts tv and radio. She is passionate about mentoring other psychologists
