Description
Insight Alliance is an 8-week mindfulness-based, group psychotherapy practice. The group structure allows you to gain insight into your relational, behavioral, and cognitive patterns, which often contribute to the challenges of daily life. Under the guidance of heated flow instructor and licensed psychotherapist Sarah Schermerhorn, LMHC, the group will help you develop mindfulness practices that foster mental health and cultivate effective ways to understand and regulate emotions.
The group will run for eight weeks. Each session will begin with a 45-minute vinyasa practice followed by 45 minutes of group psychotherapy.
To sign up for the group, contact Sarah to schedule a 30-minute initial intake session.
Group Therapist
Sarah believes that therapy needs to be as unique as the individual and originate from a place of compassionate and collaborative curiosity. She takes an eclectic approach that draws from somatic, dynamic, and relational schools of thought, with the underlying belief that all individuals already possess the ingredients needed to heal.
Sarah's background predominantly involves working with young and emerging adults and athletes. She tends to be quite active in sessions and trusts immensely in the profound healing that can come from a genuine therapeutic relationship.
Additionally, Sarah advocates for the use of yoga and meditation as complementary practices to mental health treatment and self-actualization. Her specialties include working with anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. She has also spent extensive time working with and researching the impact of athletics on identity formation.
