Long Haulers - Long Covid Support Group


As we adjust to the ever-changing landscape of living with COVID-19, those living with “Long COVID,” also known as “Long Haulers,” can benefit from processing their experience together in a compassionate, safe, and confidential space. Group meets on a weekly basis where individuals have a space to discuss topics including symptom management, uncertainty, isolation, identity loss or change, stress, and anxiety. Connecting with others who experience similar challenges can help reduce feeling isolated and increase meaningful human connection. The group will also offer an opportunity to improve coping skills through in vivo experiences. The group is capped at 8 participants.

Commitment: 1 month

Cost: $25 per group

Group Therapist

Mary-Kate Proietta is an Associate Social Worker at TLA Therapy, based in the greater Los Angeles, California area. She works with clients experiencing a range of symptoms including depression, anxiety, pre & postnatal depression and anxiety, chronic & terminal illness, grief & loss, emotion regulation, impulsive behaviors, social anxiety, relationship concerns, and life transitions.

Mary-Kate uses evidence-based practices like Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and mindfulness-based practices when working with clients. She has training in these modalities and continues to stay up to date with current research on the efficacy of treatments across multiple populations. As a social worker, she is cognizant of the impacts and influences that systems have on an individual's experience. She maintains a culturally sensitive approach in working with each person.

Mary-Kate earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of South Florida and applied her case management skills working with children and families, survivors of domestic violence, and incarcerated individuals. She spent time working in non-profit management using a macro-level approach to contribute meaningfully to solving problems. Mary-Kate went on to earn her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Arkansas and spent time working with veterans and those affected by cancer.

Mary-Kate is currently accepting virtual clients and has some availability for in-person clients as well. She practices in Redondo Beach, California.
