This online and in-person course offers an opportunity to acquire and hone the skills necessary to compassionately tolerate distress. It includes learning how to communicate with others effectively so that you can have healthier relationships with others and with yourself. It also includes learning how to sleep better.
Dr. Cathia Walters, Psy.D. (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist, educator, and transformational coach with over 20 years of clinical experience. She is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Through retreats, groups, classes, and individual sessions, she has empowered hundreds of individuals and couples over the years, using a lens of compassion and acceptance of self. Those who have worked with her learn to live - not just to exist.
As a trauma-informed clinician, Dr. Walters’ "wholistic" approach is client-centered and compassion-focused. Using that compassion in conjunction with mindfulness practices, she works with clients to shift their negative narratives into healthier, more effective storylines.
Dr. Walters' personal, immigrant experience has shaped her work. She is committed to maintaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive practice. Along with the traditional modalities of in-person sessions, she offers “walking therapy” for individual clients, as well as telehealth practices geared to not only individual clients but couples, groups, and classes. She is currently accepting new clients via telehealth only.
