Men and Relationships Group

Description

This group is best for adult individuals who identify as men (ages 18+). A free 15 minute consultation call is required before joining the group.

Dr. Jesse Smith, the facilitator of the group, is a marriage and family therapist with 5+ years experience in the field working with couples, families, and individuals. Dr. Smith received his bachelors and master's degrees from the University of Alabama and PhD in Couple, Marriage, and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University. His practice focuses primarily on individuals and couples with a range of presenting problems, including relationship problems (infidelity, communication, high conflict), substance use problems, depression, and anxiety.

Group Therapist

Dr. Jesse Smith is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Philadelphia, PA, who works with adult individuals and couples, with a focus on substance problems and addiction. Many of his clients face challenges with loved ones who have substance problems or face challenges with substances of their own. Jesse is particularly sensitive to clients facing challenges in their relationships due to these issues, as that can be where many of the problems manifest.

Jesse’s approach is rooted in Attachment Theory, an approach that focuses on helping clients to feel safe and connected in their intimate relationships so that they can thrive. He works to help clients understand how their past hurts and negative patterns can impact their overall well-being- both in their relationships and individually.

Jesse is focused on ensuring that his clients feel heard and safe in therapy. When working with couples, it is important to hear both sides and work to help each partner feel more connected to each other.
