Group Therapist
Leanna Olitsky is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Providence, RI. She specializes in pregnancy and postpartum, in addition to grief and loss, burnout, and authentic living. She also sees women experiencing issues related to self-esteem, self-compassion, and self-doubt.
Leanna enjoys working with women throughout the perinatal stage (the time frame from one year before to 18 to 24 months after the birth of a child) and has received specific training in perinatal mental health. She strives to create a safe space for her clients at any stage to express and process their emotions in order to ease the transition to motherhood and beyond. She also uniquely understands that the journey to parenthood can involve loss and provides a space for those to grieve, grow, and heal.
Leanna implements a strengths-based, person-centered approach, with a particular interest in drawing from mindfulness practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Her goal is to help clients take a step back and gain a better understanding of themselves, what really matters to them, and how to make choices which align with their values in order to grow both as an individual and as a parent.
Leanna received her Master's in Social Work from Rhode Island College in 2016 and her Master's in Psychology from UMass Dartmouth in 2013. She is currently offering virtual and in-person visits and is licensed in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
