Process Group

Description

Our lives are lived in groups; of friends, coworkers, family, neighbors, culture, & society. Therapy in groups can embolden us for a life lived in community. This is a group for adults of any gender, age, and background to increase their understanding of themselves, their emotions, and relationship dynamics and patterns impacting their lives. In group members practice putting thoughts and feelings into words, exploring here and now group dynamics as well as sharing the emotionally significant experiences of their lives.

Group Therapist

Angelynn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing online for residents of California and Arizona. She provides individual and group therapy for adults. A social worker by training, Angelynn’s approach to therapy is founded on a recognition of the importance of relationships, those we have to ourselves, to significant and important others, and to the wider communities in which we live; so many of the struggles people experience are connected to ruptures in relationships and how we try to cope with those ruptures.

Angelynn is especially gifted in holding space for people to feel and process challenging or painful emotions, heal from traumatic experiences, and strengthen their natural capacity to form meaningful and rewarding relationships. Angelynn draws from her background in relational, feminist, and depth-oriented psychotherapies, as well as from training in EMDR, skills and behavioral-focused therapy and DBT, and trauma-informed mind-body tools. Each person’s needs in therapy are unique, and Angelynn seeks to create a collaborative and respectful relationship to support each person’s process.

With almost a decade of experience in anti-violence organizing and survivor advocacy, Angelynn provides a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in supporting trauma recovery and building resilience for those affected by interpersonal & community violence, grief and loss, vicarious & medical trauma, acute or single-incident traumatic events, and chronic stress. Angelynn reserves some space in her practice to support the wellness and healing of LBGTQ people, sex workers, and care workers. As a clinical social worker in hospital, residential, and outpatient community mental health settings, Angelynn has worked with individuals and families navigating a range of mental health challenges including substance use, depression, anxiety, OCD, personality disorders, and grief and loss.
