Anger is a powerful, sacred emotion that often carries messages of boundaries, truth, protection and unmet needs. In this transformative 8 week group women will explore their current relationship with anger, dismantle old shame driven narratives around its expression, and learn how to channel anger as a force for empowerment and healing. Through guided discussions, creative exercises, somatic embodiment, and mindfulness practices. participants will reconnect with their inner fire, understanding anger as a source of wisdom, and strength. This group is a supportive space to rebuild trust in your emotions and transform anger into a catalyst for personal growth and authentic living.
Group Therapist
Buffy Curtis is a New York State Licensed Creative Art Therapist (LCAT), nationally registered as well as board certified in art therapy (ATR-BC). She has over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, working with countless clients to help them improve their wellness. Buffy's approach seeks to align the whole individual, mind, body and spirit. She specializes in working with those who feel overwhelmed whether that’s stress, grief, anxiety, spontaneous spiritual crisis, existential difficulties or chronic health conditions. Their overwhelm might stem from early childhood trauma, individual traumatic events, early life challenges with attachment or chronic systemic challenges. Buffy provides services for young adults, adults, couples and family groups through the ease of tele-health virtual sessions.
Buffy strives to provide clients with transformational experiences based in whole health, reaching goals for emotional, physical, spiritual and social health. As an art therapist Buffy helps others by guiding them to tap into their own creativity, because sometimes there are no words. She also draws from somatic therapies and often takes a transpersonal attachment oriented approach. For those whose trauma and trauma symptoms hold them back, she practices Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
Buffy earned a Master's degree in Art Therapy Counseling from The College of New Rochelle, she was trained in EMDR by Thrive Counseling and Consulting. She earned her Level Three Reiki practitioner certification from The Remedy Room and is currently pending completion of a Certification in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy from the Vital program of Psychedelics Today. She supports clients along their journeys as they find transformation and growth, encouraging them to use the resources around them to overcome obstacles to wellness
