Stress Management

Description

The stress management group is a small (five participants) skills-based group. While emotional support will organically be provided, the purpose of this group is to have participants learn a diverse range of relaxation tools and techniques to reduce stress and optimize day-day functioning.

This group is part of a three-part series in which participants can choose to opt into the remaining two modules once part one is complete.

Group Therapist

Dr. Nicole Murray is a Clinical Neuropsychologist offering remote therapy sessions to NYS-based clients, as well as in-person neuropsychological testing. Many of her clients are dealing with increased frustration, irritability, and/or feel unable to manage their emotions. Some of her clients may have some type of medical issue that affects them cognitively or emotionally. This includes chronic illness, traumatic brain injury, cancer, and/or somatic illness. She also conducts cognitive assessments for a variety of neurological diagnoses (i.e. memory loss, ADHD, and brain injury).

While Dr. Murray tailors her approach based on her client’s needs, she frequently utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and/or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Her sessions are client-centered, and she incorporates mindfulness practices when appropriate. Her overarching purpose is to help her clients focus on the goals they want to achieve and return to a satisfactory baseline of functioning within a reasonable time frame.

Dr. Murray assists her clients in reclaiming their lives and finding joy again. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. She completed her internship and two-year fellowship at Mount Sinai-Icahn School of Medicine specializing in rehabilitation and neuropsychology. Her office is located near Grand Central.
