Teen Eating Disorder Support Group

Description

This group is for teens (age 13-18) who are in recovery from an eating disorder. Group will allow space to explore situations and relationships teens face while working on their own recovery. Through recovery teens must navigate school, peer relationships, family relationships, athletics, social media, and diet culture amongst other things. We aim to make the group a safe space for teens to process both hard times and victories in their recovery while getting support from others who understand and also learning new skills and tools along the way.

Group Therapist

I’m Jo Stadtmueller, and as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I specialize in supporting clients with eating disorders, women’s issues, and maternal mental health. My therapeutic approach is grounded in supportive, relational Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), meaning I prioritize building a trusting and empathetic relationship with you while working through your unique challenges.

Eating Disorders: I recognize that eating disorders are complex and involve a blend of biological, psychological, and social factors. My aim is to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where we can explore your relationship with food and body image together. We’ll work on addressing unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors, and I’ll support you throughout the process of developing a healthier and more compassionate self-view.

Women’s Issues: I’m deeply attuned to the distinctive challenges faced by women, whether they relate to identity, self-esteem, or navigating life transitions. My supportive, relational approach helps you address both internal conflicts and external pressures in a nurturing space. Through our work, we’ll focus on reshaping limiting beliefs and developing strategies that empower you to build resilience and gain clarity.

Maternal Mental Health: Motherhood brings about profound emotional and psychological changes. If you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, identity chanegs, or the stresses associated with motherhood, I’m here to offer support. My approach combines understanding and empathy with practical CBT techniques to help you manage these demands and foster well-being.

As we explore these issues, my approach remains grounded in creating a supportive, nurturing environment where you can grow. While using CBT, I offer a dynamic yet structured approach to addressing your individual needs. Together, we’ll work toward healing and personal growth.
